Care Instructions:

The Popover is machine washable in warm water. Tumble dry the Popover at low temperature. Do not bleach, dry clean, or iron your Popover. Avoid fabric softeners. For best results, launder separately. The Popover is made of Polartec® WindPro® fleece, which is manufactured using a patented process, from 100 % polyester.

Popping on the Popover:
To put The Popover on your baby with the baby facing out:
1. Dress your baby in his or her normal seasonally appropriate indoor clothes. (Please note that the American Academy of Pediatrics suggests that, in cold weather as a general guideline, your baby should always be wearing one layer of clothing more than an adult would wear in the same conditions.)

2. Put on your front infant carrier. Put your baby in the front infant carrier according to the manufacturer’s instructions. WHEN POSITIONING YOUR BABY FACING OUT, MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CARRIER IS ADJUSTED SO THAT BABY’S ENTIRE FACE AND CHIN CLEAR THE FRONT OF THE CARRIER. IF THIS STEP IS NOT TAKEN, YOUR BABY MAY BE UNCOMFORTABLE, AND YOUR POPOVER WILL NOT FIT SAFELY AND CORRECTLY.

3. Your Popover has a front and a back. The front of your Popover has the company logo on it;the back has a large elasticized hole in the center of it. Another way to find the front is that The Popover is shipped with the face opening of the hood facing the front.

4. Hold your Popover with the hood up and the front facing away from you. Hook your thumbs through the large hole in the back of the Popover. Put the Popover over the baby’s head, and make sure that the baby’s head goes into the hood hole. (If your baby is too small to have its head fit fully into the hood, see paragraph ten, below.)

5. Stretch out the hole in the back of the Popover. Tuck the baby’s hands and arms in through the hole. Either guide the baby’s hands through the sleeves from inside the Popover, or reach in through the hand holes at the end of the sleeves and pull the baby’s hands through. (If your baby is too small to fit its hands through the hand holes, the sleeves can be tucked between the baby and your chest, or the mitten flaps can be folded over to keep out any unwanted breezes.) Once the baby’s head and arms are in position, tuck the baby’s legs up and through the hole into the Popover.

6. Check to make sure that the baby’s face is clear of any fabric.

7. Go outside and enjoy yourself with your warm, comfortable, stylish baby!

To put the Popover on your baby with the baby facing you:
8. Put the baby in the carrier, facing in. Before putting the Popover on the baby, unsnap the hood, turn it halfway around, and then re-snap it. Be sure to line up the seam in the back of the hood with the seam in the center of your Popover to ensure that the opening for your baby’s face is in the right place to allow the baby to breathe. IT SHULD GO WITHOUT SAYING (BUT WE’RE GOING TO SAY IT ANYWAY) THAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING SURE THAT YOUR BABY CAN BREATHE AT ALL TIMES.

9. Put the Popover on the baby following instructions in paragraphs four through seven, above.

For very small babies:
10. You may find that your baby is too small to get its head fully up into the hood. If this is the case, DO NOT USE THE HOOD. Detach the hood and use a hat until the baby’s neck gets long enough so that its face fits into the hood opening.

For babies that cannot yet hold up their own heads:
11.

The supportive section of your infant carrier that you unfold to support the baby’s head will prevent the Popover from going over your baby’s head properly. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU WAIT TO USE YOUR Popover UNTIL YOUR BABY CAN HOLD UP ITS OWN HEAD. If you insist upon using your Popover by draping it around the top of your carrier, DO NOT USE THE HOOD. Use a hat until your baby can hold its own head up and the supportive section of your carrier is no longer necessary. PLEASE BE SURE THAT YOUR BABY CAN BREATHE AT ALL TIMES. THE POPOVER IS NOT DESIGNED FOR USE WITH BABIES THAT CANNOT HOLD UP THEIR OWN HEADS.

For use in an infant car seat or stroller:
12. First, put your baby in the infant car seat or stroller and belt your baby into the car seat using the car seat’s five point harness or the stroller’s restraint straps.

13. Put the Popover over the strapped-in baby following instructions in paragraphs four through seven above.
